Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Why?
It sounds like a ridiculous question doesn't it? Who wants to be a millionaire? Clearly you and I both would long to be rich but why? What's so wonderful about being a millionaire? OK let's put the obvious aside money, you will have tons and tons of moolah and all the associated benefits, big mansion, expensive sports cars, exotic yachts, luxury holidays however, eventually the pursuit of possessions will leave you empty and unfulfilled.
So what else, I mean who wants to be a millionaire just so they can purchase meaningless tat? What about adoration from one's peers? Isn't it funny how we tend to as a culture, revere anyone who is rich we do don't we? We think to ourselves this guy must be really clever, or I must watch what I say and some of us say, "I want to be just like him I want to be a millionaire" why? Because being rich gives you power and influence over people.
Imagine, being able to command attention wherever you are because you are wealthy. People will deem you to be important what a trip huh? Unfortunately some millionaires abuse this courtesy and become arrogant. It can be quite distasteful to witness such behavior and is probably where the phrase 'the power's gone to his head' originates from.
Yet here's another quote that describes those millionaires in touch with the universe morality and decency, it goes a little like this 'with great power comes great responsibility' what's the meaning of the statement? Simply put, as a person with influence over others you have a responsibility towards those you influence you have the power to decide their fate wow picture that.
As a rich person you may have responsibilities beyond your immediate family. Business associates, partnerships in the form of suppliers, may be reliant on your custom a crucial part of prosperity is making money flow.
Lastly a massive reason to be a millionaire is the lifestyle you can lead. And again I'm not talking about what you can purchase, I'm talking about that precious commodity so often denied to the average guy and that's freedom. I know you're probably thinking now I have freedom, I can do what I want when I want ahh, but can you really?
If you chose not to work for 6 months what would happen? Lose your job, struggle to make ends meet? I know what would happen to a millionaire, he'd still earn an income see the difference?
