Unless you happen to live under a rock or in the middle of some far off island, you are sure to have heard about Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus. From the TV show to the CD's to the Movies to the Clothes, it seems that everything on the market has been branded with her name. The popularity is growing every day and does not seem to be showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The reasoning behind the craze is relatively unknown. The fact is that seemingly everyone is captivated by Hannah Montana and everything that comes with it. From senior citizens that love the show to young preteen girls that are obsessed with the movie, the target market for the brand seems to be, well, everybody. And just when you think the brand had entered every potential market, here comes Hannah Montana Bananas.
Disney and the Hannah Montana brand are going to start getting into the health food diet market as much as they possibly can. While promoting Disney shows and products via food is not a new idea, the company has never really entered the health food market. With so many children becoming obese a lot of the blame has been put on product placement and things such as happy meals that lure children towards fast food. So Disney and the Hannah Montana brand are going a different route now and trying to capture children's attention through healthy fruit such as fruits and vegetables. Can a banana plastered with a picture of Hannah Montana get children more interested in eating healthily? That remains to be seen but one thing is for certain, Hannah Montana mania is here to stay.
No one could have predicted the popularity of Hannah Montana and the brand that comes along with her. Everywhere you go you are bound to hear, read or see something related to this child superstar. It has been years since we have seen anything in the mainstream becoming so popular and it could be years until we see it again. With the Hannah Montana movie smashing records and the CD's selling like hot cakes to this day, no prediction can be made about when this craze will end. Fads come and go and trends disappear without warning, but is this Hannah Montana trend really comparable to anything else? Not really. Miley Cyrus, who plays the character of Hannah Montana, is on pace to becoming one of the youngest billionaires ever.
Buckle up, get comfortable and enjoy the ride because the marketing roller coaster that is Hannah Montana is not going away any time soon. From backpacks to makeup to bananas it seems that you can easily purchase anything with the brand labeled onto it. What can Disney bring out next? Hannah Montana airplanes? Hannah Montana computers? It seems that the sky is the limit with this one, and Disney is going to make sure they take advantage of it as long as they can.
