The Causes Of Recurrent Yeast Infections

By Jennifer King
May 26, 2009
Chronic Candida infections are now effecting the health of 5 percent of women worldwide. If you're putting up with recurrent yeast infections I can assure you that you're not alone in your misery. The excellent news is there is an obvious reason for your infections to keep coming back, and when you have found out what it is you can successfully cure yourself for good.

Over the counter anti fungal creams

Over the counter anti yeast products are a major reason for recurrent Candida infections. Thousands of women, everyday, are buying these products when they don't need to use them. Many women seem to think that these creams can be applied to stave off a yeast infection, and this could not be any further from the truth.

When you use an OTC yeast cream it will force the controllable Candida yeast residing in your vagina to mutate into a fungus. It does this to protect itself from the treatment that is applied to kill it, or keep it away. Other than the side effects of these products they are safe to use for 7 days to cure a fungal infection, the yeast will not have time to transform and become resistant to the OTC treatment.

This mutating happens when the anti fungal remedy is over applied for no reason. The yeast mutates, ends up resistant, and then causes recurring infections that become apparently impossible to cure. And as more of the OTC treatment is used in an attempt to cure your infections the mutated yeast is further adapting to the environment you're creating.

Antibiotics and yeast infections

Antibiotics are the biggest reason for chronic yeast infections. Like over the counter treatments, antibiotics force the yeast to mutate in its fight against a medicine that is endlessly trying to kill it. As well as killing fungus and bacteria that the drugs are intended for, the oral anti fungals kill all of your friendly bacteria that are one of your system's natural defenses against Candida infections.

Oral anti fungals also impair your body's cells, and this causes problems like a weakened immune system which is another one of your body's defenses against infections.

Underlying health condition

Another cause of your recurrent yeast infections may be an underlying health condition. This is why it's very essential that you go and see your doctor when you first suspect any reoccurrence of your yeast infection. The HIV/AIDS virus and diabetes are a couple health problems that are causes for chronic infections.

If you're suffering from diabetes you can get it under control with the correct medication, then you can work on successfully curing yourself.

If you're suffering from AIDS/HIV then you'll probably be on permanent medication because of the fact that your immune system will not be strong enough to fight of the Candida.

Chronic yeast infections cures

If you are suffering from reoccurring infections, and under the impression that you're never going to cure yourself you do still have options of treatments left. And these options have aided tens of thousands of men and women rid their bodies of the mutated yeast so they can carry on their lives in good health.
