How Long Does A Yeast Infection Last
Yeast infections are cause by the Candida Albicans yeast that lives naturally in all of us. When it mutates into a fungus you need to strengthen your body's natural defenses before you can eliminate it from your body. This will take a different amount of time for each sufferer. Yeast infections are not the same for everyone, they have no time limit, and they can take between a few days and over a year to cure.
The women that fall into the over a year category are failing to cure their infection because they are continually treating the symptoms of their infection and not the cause. Just because you are suffering with vaginal discharge and itching doesn't mean that this is the place that you keep treating.
The vagina is just the place on a women's body that is the warmest and most moist, and these are the conditions that fungus will breed in the most. The fact of the matter is, the fungus is also in your intestines which is why, for a lot of women a cream or suppository is not always the answer. These treatments only kill the fungus, and don't prevent the naturally occurring yeast in your body from mutating into an infection causing fungus.
If you're continually treating the infection in your vagina without success then you should by now realize that this method of treatment is not going to work ever. You may by now be experiencing worse infections than you were at the start. This is purely because the fungus that is causing your symptoms is mutating every time you expose it to another anti fungal drug. And by now it is probably resistant.
Your yeast infection will last as long as your body allows the Candida Albicans organism to mutate into a fungus. Until you stop the mutating you will always suffer form infections. Only your body can stop the yeast mutating as no drug can do this. All drugs can do is kill the fungus. And if they're not killing it then they're making it stronger.
The Candida Albicans yeast lives in all of us, and our body's natural defenses will keep it under control. When your natural defenses have been compromised in some way then the yeast will be allowed to grow in numbers, and then it mutates into an aggressive fungus.
Your infection won't last much longer at all once you get your body's natural defenses are back up to full strength. Your digestion will improve and so will your energy levels as the fungus will have a detrimental effect on both of these.
