Comics are capable of delivering a good story, despite it being just about 30 pages short. With good stories, you can adapt it to any media whether it be print or video. They also draw us into the characters and the situations.

We can learn a lot from our comic book characters as most of them reflect the personality of their creators and writers. With the recent book that is Watchmen, people are suddenly made aware of how great comic books can be.

Comic books are not a mystery anymore and everyone has probably read one at some point in their lives. With the recent boom in superhero movies, it's rare to find someone without an idea of who Batman, Superman, or the X-men are. These movies have attracted a lot of people into comic book reading.

Each movie has created its own fan base, sometimes separate from the comic book itself. However, those that were really drawn to the movie and can't wait for the sequel go into the hobby of collecting actual comic books

However, comic book reading can take out a bit of your time and money. New comic books are released every week and for an average reader, who reads anywhere from 5 to 30 comic books weekly, it does take a chunk of your time and your allowance.

I personally have experienced this as a student who had limited resources. Comic scans back then where no where to be found and I had to buy every comic book I liked. If I don't do this, I feel like I'm missing something. Even with scans though, you might have saved some money but not time.
