Seattle Sounders FC Tickets - Sounders Lead All-Star Voting
The Seattle Sounders FC have started their inaugural season by impressing the league with a slew of wins. Their status in the league as the newest editions that hasn't stopped their fans from apparently being some of the most die-hard in the MLS. The voting for the All Star First XI, the All-Star team in the MLS, is only weeks old, but Sounders fans have already pushed over half a dozen of their favorites into the top 11. This includes the man on the top of the list, Sounders goalkeeper Kasey Keller. He is joined by many other Sounders standouts like Asvaldo Alonso, Jhon Hurtado, Sebastian Le Toux, Freddie Ljungberg, Tyrone Marshall, Fredy Montero and Steve Zakuani. Kasey Keller brings a wealth of experience to the Sounders team. After playing college with the University of Portland, Keller started her professional career with England's Millwall, playing in the First Division with that team from 1992 to 1996. At the end of 1996, he moved to the English Premier League with Leicester City. He moved to the Spanish League in 1999 and played for Rayo Vallecano. He was back in England in 2001 with Tottenham before going to Germany in 2004. He was back in the English Premier League in 2007, finally making his way to the MLS this year.
Midfielder Osvaldo Alonso hails from Cuba, where he has played with the national team 17 times. He also started his professional career in Cuba in 2005 with FC Pinar del Rio. Last season, he played for Charleston in USL-1, making it all the way to the playoffs. Freddie Ljungberg is another midfielder who made the list and the Swedish star made his professional debut in 1994 with Hamstads BK in his home country. He then became part of England's Arsenal in 1998. He moved to England's West Ham in 2007.
Seattle forwards also made the list like Steve Zakuani. He played with Arsenal youth team and eventually made it to the MLS this season. Another young forward to perhaps be a future All Star player is Fredy Montero. He is also in his first year in the MLS and he has already been on a scoring frenzy. He played in his home country of Columbia before coming to the U.S. Sebastien Le Toux is a forward that hails from France. He first played in France for Lorient from 2004 to 2006. He played for the USL-1 Sounders team in 2007.
Defender Jhon Hurtado also comes from Columbia, where he played for the likes of Deportivo Cali and Real Cartagena. He has completed a trial for AC Milan, giving him top experience. Tyrone Marshall is the second Sounders Seattle on the list. He started playing with the Colorado Rapids in 1998, but only played with them for one game before going to Miami, where he stayed until 2001. From 2002 to 2007, he played with the Los Angeles Galaxy for the past two seasons, he was with Toronto FC. Last season, he started 23 out of the 24 games he played in for the Galaxy.
