Job Interview Tips For The Prepared Job Seeker
The interview is your chance to shine to the interviewer and being relaxed and prepared is crucial. It will pay to be prepared for the interview by doing several things prior the interview along with appearing comfortable during your interview.
Here are some helpful hints to prepare for the interview. 1. Learn about the company - what they do for business, how long they have been in business, who the president or owner is. 2. Learn about the job you that will be doing if you get the job. 3. Review your qualification for the job. 4. Have information available relating to your experience and how it will be used for the job. 5. Be prepared for questions such as "why do you want to work for us?", "why should I hire you?", and "what are your weaknesses and strengths?" 6. Select what you will wear for the interview to present a professional image. 7. Take the time to appear profession for the interview. 8. Be well groomed - maybe get a needed haircut. 9. Do not chew gum or smoke before the interview. 10. Make sure your clothing is pressed, clean and appropriate for the job you are interviewing for. 11. Select the right shoes to match your outfit for the interview.
The day of the interview: 1. Arrive ten to fifteen minutes before the scheduled time of the interview. 2. Know the name of the person interviewing you. 3. Greet them with a firm handshake. 4. Thank them for taking the time to see you. 5. Be relaxed and answer all the questions with a positive and honest answer. 6. Be enthusiastic yet reserved. 7. Be cooperative 8. Smile 9. Bring the following information to the interview: 1. Social Security card 2. Driver's license 3. Copy of resume 4. References 5. Transcripts - some employers want to see the high school diploma and college transcripts.
