Being Proactive Against Being Passive

Jun 11, 2009
Our economy has been moving really slow. Because of this, we are required to change the way we live especially in the spending aspect. We need to sacrifice a number of things especially those things that are regarded to as luxuries and we can absolutely do without. We have to let go of those things that are not considered a requirement, meaning, we only buy those things that are considered necessary. Our spending has to be sound

What we need and what we want are two tremendously dissimilar concepts. A very thin line divides the two. We may want what we need but we can never need what we want. Get my point? Let me put it this way, need may be related to necessity or the things that we need to live on - basic things, while want can be related to the things we could do without - luxurious things.

At any case, it is but right to say that we have to be watchful with the things that we throw away for the reason that what you regard as garbage may be treasure to be somebody else. It's just a matter of how you see things.

Seeing things in a different perspective is called paradigm. When you shift your paradigm to the positive way, that's being proactive, and being passive is the other way around. Understanding this concept when it comes to picking out the best furniture for our homes is essential.

This can be applied in choosing the best piece of furniture that fit our house completely - pieces of furniture such as bedroom furniture, dining furniture including dining tables and chairs. But it does not mean that we have to buy costly and luxurious furniture in order for our house to look tasteful.

There are a lot of idle things around our house that we consider useless items that can be turned into well-put together pieces of furniture. Imagination is the key. We have to be inventive in order to see things in a different way. It all boils down to paradigm shifting.
