Backup Servers Bring You Peace of Mind for Your Important Files
How many have a computer that you faithfully save all of your documents on? You figure that they are safe, because you have saved them on your computer. Do you have documents or even pictures that are really important and you would never want to lose them? Those valuable pictures that you can never gain back if you lose them off of your computer. I would guess that anyone that has a computer has important documents or memories saved on their computer that they would not know what to do if they lost them.
I was in that boat. I had about 8 years of digital camera pictures on my computer, work documents and things that were critical that I have for personal things. I had no back up. I had figured that if I had them saved on my computer they would be safe and for some reason never had it cross my mind that if something happened to my computer that I wouldn't have them anymore.
One day I went to turn on the computer and it wouldn't turn on. I tried everything I could possibly dream up to get it on and just wanted to die. I realized that I was possibly in a situation that I had lost all of my pictures of all of those years. What was worse was that I didn't have access to the documents I needed to do my job.
When I took it to a computer specialist to see what they could do for me one of the first things they asked me was if I had my documents backed up. I didn't. My thought was, "That would have been thousands of discs or thumb drives to back all of my stuff up." Then they asked me about backup servers. My first thought was, "What is that?" When they told me that there are companies out there that have backup servers that can back my stuff up so when things like this happen to my computer the stuff is backed up and all is not lost.
Wow! That was an awesome concept. I don't have to worry about saving all of my files to discs or thumb drives. There were companies out there that would back up my stuff and help protect my files. They were companies that specifically specialized in backup servers and had additional back up that would make sure my documents and valuable pictures were saved.
Luckily for me my story has a happy ending and we were able to recover all of my documents and pictures, but you better believe that before I turned my computer back on, after recovering all of my files, I was hooked up to a backup server so that I didn't have to worry anymore about losing my files.
Now I have the peace of mind knowing that every time I save a document it is not only saved on my computer, but it is saved again to ensure that I will be able to recover everything for that unfortunate experience if my computer goes down again.
