Parents Need To Know - Is ADHD Real?
Let's face it, in today's fast paced society, it's not always easy to determine what's going on in your child's world. Things are always hectic at home. Sometimes our kids stress us out. But if there's behaviour you can't reasonably explain, you may you're asking yourself "is ADHD a legitimate disorder", or "is ADHD real"? The goal of this article is to help you determine when you may need to investigate further into the world of ADHD. We're going to cover things like the symptoms of ADHD, other helpful indicators or ADHD, and some treatment options if your child is diagnosed with ADHD.
First of all, let's start with a list of ADHD symptoms:
-Fidgeting -Tantrums -Mood swings -Hyperactivity -Difficulty completing tasks -Outbursts
Now, when you read through the list, you might think is ADHD a legitimate disorder or is it just a kid being a kid? Well, yes children can display these certain behaviours at one time or another. When you might have cause for concern is if your child displays most symptoms most of the time.
Is ADHD Real?
For the very reason that the above-noted symptoms are often displayed in active, "normal" children, it is not straight-forward to diagnose if your child is suffering from ADHD. One thing you can do to prepare for a visit to your health care provider, is put together a family tree. Studies have shown that ADHD runs in families. I'm willing to bet if you're wondering "is ADHD real?", someone else in your family has wondered the very same thing for the very same reasons. Start with the child's biological parents and work back from there. Note any similar behaviour patterns as the child you're concerned about. Make sure to note things like learning disorders or mental health issues, either diagnosed or suspected. These are all very helpful to help your health care provider when they are evaluating your child.
Should your child be diagnosed with ADHD, there are ways to treat it. Often the first suggestion of medical professionals is prescription drugs. Before you go that route, you need to consider a few things. ADHD prescription medications suppress the symptoms but come with risks of serious side effects. Side effects like nausea, vomiting, headaches, loss of appetite, social withdraw and insomnia. Those are just for starters. Long term effects are still unknown but research has shown these drugs can lead to depression and addiction issues as an adult. As a parent, we all worry for the safety and health of our children. For this reason, fortunately, we can turn to natural treatments. For safe and effective treatments, people are using natural treatments like homeopathy. A homeopathic remedy is completely safe, has no risks of side effects and is non-addictive.
So there you have it. If you've been plunged into the world of ADHD, you've got a bumpy road ahead of you. Luckily others have traveled that road before you. No more need to wonder "is ADHD a legitimate disorder" or "is ADHD real"? A resounding yes. I've listed the symptoms to look for, how you can help to ensure a correct diagnosis is made, and why to treat your children safely with a homeopathic remedy have all been spelled out for you. I've given you some food for thought. It's up to you to continue your research.
