Unique Gift Ideas for the Best Soccer Coach Ever
The games are over, and there will be no more soccer practices for awhile. There's a certain amount of relief in that, but most parents will miss the fun and camaraderie of watching their kids run all over the field having a great time and working on their skills. Thanks to the efforts of the coach, the kids improved tremendously and learned the principles of hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Was your child's recreation league soccer coach the best one ever? It's hard to think of new and unique ways to thank him for all that he's done. The very best gifts are those that are personalized: here are some interesting ways to show him he's the greatest.
-- Every coach lugs around a soccer bag full of balls and other equipment. How about giving him a bag in the team's colors embroidered with his name on it? Most sports bags on the market are available in just about any color, and can easily be embroidered at any t-shirt shop in town. For added personalization, have special I.D. tags made with the team's picture or logo on them. He'll always remember how the kids looked when he coached them.
-- How about giving him a soccer ball that he'll never, ever want to use? Specialty companies make regulation-size balls that can be personalized with a team photograph, logo, or both. It's an unusual idea and he'll be proud to display it in his den or office. The same concept can be used for mini-soccer balls if you want to give team members something to remember at the same time. Each team member's individual photo can be put on his or her own ball.
-- Every coach gets a team picture, but it seems so - well - not enough. You can personalize a team picture by mounting a 4 x 6 version on an 8 x 10 paper backing. Have someone who is good with the computer create a heading, such as "2009 Lake Street Bombers: Thank You Coach Phillips." Put the photo at the top, and then leave room at the bottom for all of the team members to sign their names. A framed version of this gift will be a treasured keepsake.
-- If you'd like to take the team picture a step further, you can have it made into a wall plaque with a team roster listed underneath it. This type of gift is more expensive than the one mentioned above, but if the coach is retiring or if the kids are moving up into another division to be coached by someone else, it makes for a more formal way to say thank you.
-- Is your coach an outdoors kind of guy who drives an SUV or truck? If so, then the most unusual gift of all might be the following: how about getting him a personalized trailer hitch cover? Have it made in your team's colors and emblazon it with "COACH PHILLIPS" in big capital letters. He'll absolutely love it.
