How To Start A Vending Machine Business - Locating Strategies Explained!

Today I would like to give you an example of what you can use when approaching a local business in your community, to try and get a new location for your vending business.

Really what you are going to want to accomplish is to establish yourself as a vending operator that's doing business in the local area. You will be explaining to people that you are looking to expand and build your vending business and that you want to help them by providing vending services to their company.

So let's go through a sample script today, of what you could do and what you could say at a typical location. So let me start off by saying that what I normally do is when I go approach a location I look at a couple of things before I actually go into the business.

So first I walk up to the building, let's say I'm cold calling. I walk up to the building, the first thing that I'm going to do is, I'm going to do a little walk around the building and take a look at the parking lot.

I want to see how many cars are actually in that parking lot to get an idea of how many employees work there. Then I look at the back area of the building, is it a company that has a lot of deliveries running through the back of the building? I'm looking to see if there is alot of activity going on at the location, or is it just simply an office type environment.

Usually I like to get a good visual of the outside of the location before I go in, and get an idea of what their business is, and what goes on there. So, typically there's two ways I go about it. And I'll either go to the front entrance, and I'll talk to the receptionist at the desk.

Or I'll go to the back of the building where the receiving is, and talk to one of the workers at the back.

So for example let's say I go into the front area of the reception. The first thing that I'm going to do is go in the front and I'm going to have a business card ready, or one page flyer, or a brochure I have available for marketing my business.

I like to leave something with them so they have something that they can contact me with.

So typically I'll walk in the location and I will speak with the receptionist there and say, "Hello, good morning. I own a vending service company and I'm actually in the area looking for new business. And I wanted to see if your company already has a vending service provider helping you or if you may be in need of a vending service provider?

So, something simple like that. Then you wait for a response from them. And they will either say something along the lines of, "Well, we currently have a provider, or I'm not really sure about that, or who takes care that. I think we have vending machines in the back.

Once they respond to you basically what you want do from there is just say, "I provide my vending machines for free, to local businesses in the area. I'm only going be in the area today only." And so you're creating urgency, right.

Today there is an opportunity, "I have a few machines available. And there's an opportunity for your business to be one the businesses that I can bring in a soda machine, or pop machine, or and/or a snack machine, depending on how many employees work at your company. So at that point you can just say, How many employees work at the company. She will probably say "Oh we have 30, 40, 50, or 100 employees", whatever the number is.

So right when you hear that number, then you can determine what vending machines will be suitable for the location and the kind of service that I you can offer them.

This is just some of the basics for cold calling and locating.
