Virus, Registry and Spyware Cleaners are 3 Different Computer Tools
First and foremost in computer maintenance tools is the virus scanner. If your computer gets a virus, it could be the end of it. Just about everybody is protected against viruses these days, though. The reason is Windows XP and Vista will keep a popup in your face if you dont have an up to date virus cleaner setup on your PC.
We often paint viruses and spyware with one brush but actually they are two separate animals. However, even if you need two separate programs to do it, make sure you are protected against both spyware and viruses because either of these things can raise havoc with your PC, but spyware can steal your passwords and personal information as well.
A Corrupt Registry Results in a Slow Computer
While spyware and viruses have their own agendas, registry corruption has none. While spyware and viruses are performing their dirty work they are stealing your computers resources which usually will result in slow computer operations. Registry corruption will slow down your computer or cause it to crash and behave strangely simply because that is what registry corruption does.
When your operating system becomes very corrupted, your computer will no longer startup. So, a reformat will be necessary to make your hard drive usable once again. While this may not be as bad a situation as if spyware stole all your banking information, but it would mean you would lose all your MP3s, JPGs and documents if you didnt have an up to the minute backup of them.
Just because registry corruption doesnt seem like it is an immediate problem, it is still a problem. You should keep on top of registry corruption because it tends to breed registry corruption and an operating system failure could occur before you know it. Besides that, the corruption will slow down your computer and that is just plain aggravating!
Dealing with These Problems is not Insurmountable
So, there are three separate issues every PC owner has to deal with; viruses, spyware and registry corruption. These things are capable of messing up your life in different various ways. So, it is a wise move to have programs that will protect you against all these varmints.
So, your plight is to deal with each one of these problems. Any one of them can cause computer slowdowns and crashes. They all work against your computer in different ways. Unfortunately, they all require their own removal tools.
Most times, an anti-virus program comes pre-installed on the computer when it is new. Both spyware and registry scans are free so you can get one of each to find out where you stand as far as these two enemies of computers are concerned. If your free scan indicates you need to get these programs installed on your computer, it is not the end of the world because they come with price tags that are far from cost prohibitive.
