Get Creative With Photo Greeting Cards This Year

By Dominic Donaldson

It seems to easy these days to just send people a text or email, or leave a message on a social network site. When in actual fact sending a greeting card is probably far more appreciated as not only is it personal and shows effort, you can completely personalise them to suit the receiver. It is thought that the first type of greetings were started by the Ancient Egyptians, they sent symbols on papyrus and had them delivered by a messenger. By the late Middle Ages, greeting messages via letters became hugely popular throughout Europe and remain that way today.

Making your own homemade greetings cards is a brilliant way of impressing your friends and family, a greeting card is a great way of showing you care but a homemade one is even better. This makes your card totally unique and is much cheaper than paying for one every time there is a celebrated occasion. Why not recycle some old cards but getting a bit creative? That way you save money and the environment by recycling. You can easily take patterns and designs off cards that you like and stick them onto your new card.

Another really easy way of creating personalised and special cards is by making photo greeting cards; these are great for any occasion. Why not at Christmas take a picture of the whole family including the pets and send that to friends and family. That way you can keep relatives updated with family news and send a seasonal message. Photo greeting cards can leave such a lasting impression and are sure to get you remembered than just any normal greeting card. Remember to start with looking for an important picture that is meaningful to you and your recipient and that the image supports the overall theme of your card.

Photo greeting cards are excellent gift ideas for grandparents, mothers and fathers as they love nothing more than a picture of their children or grandchildren. A fun shot of your pet can be a great idea for less serious cards, say for an invitation for a party you are hosting. You may even want to find a photo from the last party you held to remind your guests just how much fun they are due to have at yours. Overall, photo greeting cards and homemade cards are a great way to showing people how much you appreciate them and is always going to be far more appreciated than a text or an email! We may have all of this technology but it is a shame to loose traditional methods of communication!
