A Review of the EA Sports Active
Wii Fit started the fitness craze, and EA Sports Active definitely picks up on that with this game. This game, EA Sports Active, provides what so many people really wanted with the Wii Fit. It provides an entire program for working out, complete with various exercises you can use. No, it is not like having a personal trainer or heading to the gym, but for a game, it definitely provides a great way to work out and get fit.
EA Sports Active is destined to be a hit in the gaming world because it gives it has such mass appeal. Regardless of whether you like cardio exercise, strength training, flexibility exercises, or a certain sport, you can find what you're looking for on this game. This is part of why Nintendo Wii is so popular in the first place. You can play it regardless of whether you're 6 or 60. There's really no age restrictions.
It makes a movement in the opposite direction of most gaming consoles. With other consoles, you grab a soda and a snack and sit down in your favorite chair for hours of laziness. With the Wii (and this game in particular) you're up off the couch burning calories. If you're not in shape, this game will probably make you wish you would have stayed in shape. The introductory workout will definitely leave you in a pool of sweat in most cases.
All the different exercises that can be used is why this game has been such a bit hit. In real life workouts, often you begin getting tired with the workout over time. Sure, when you saw the machine on the infomercial that you watched, it may have looked wonderful. You were going to use it all the time and get in shape. Soon you were trying to find any way you could to avoid actually having to use it. This may be true for that gym membership that you purchase when you decided to get in shape. When you use EA Sports Active you won't get bored.
Once you get tired of an exercise, you can pick one of the many others available. If you want to work on the speed bag, you can do it. Then maybe you can go on to work on a jump serve playing volleyball. You can go and start jogging on track right away as well. Maybe you aren't into sports. There are strength training workouts you can use too. There are particular groups of exercises too, such as for your lower or upper body.
Another wonderful thing about EA Sports Active is the customizeable aspect of it. You can come up with a completely unique workout by choosing 9 different exercises to do. Every day, you turn on the game and it remembers what you've done including how many calories you've burned.
You are also able to do individual exercises if you want to. It is the 30 day workout that is programmed in that happens to be one the main benefits of this game. You can choose a workout that is difficult, easy, or medium, and then use it for 30 days.
If you want to maintain health or get in shape, EA Sports Active is a great game. You will get variety, which is one thing that you often can't find in a real workout. Everyone can use it and it is a great fitness tool.
