Reception Means Welcome
Just walk into any major companys office building and you can see how important reception areas are. It may seem a little over the top to say this, but reception areas truly are the place where a company can show visitors who they are.
The welcome area is where visitors get a feel for the company. It is important to give off the right impression to those who enter your reception area.
Obviously, a lawyer and hotel will have very different reception areas.
Attorney tend to decorate their reception areas in a way that makes them appear to be very successful, which means they are good at what they do. This will help clients trust in their hired attorneys. Alternatively, hotels tend to decorate in a way that makes their guests feel at ease and like they can relax.
It is quite common for the only places to be decorated are the parts that visitors will see (such as the reception area and conference rooms). It is not necessary to worry about a guest's impression of office space that they will likely never see.
There are some key points to be remembered when decorating a reception area.
First of all, you will need a comfortable sitting area for guests. It is good to provide reading materials and telephone access as well.
The next thing to do is to pick a design theme that goes along with your company. For example, doctors offices need to have waiting areas that are soothing and comfortable for their waiting patients.
Lastly, pick furniture for your receptionist that is organized and effective. Corner computer desks are a great way to maximize space and stay organized.
