For a nice toothpaste, you can make your own as many people do by combining baking soda, salt, peppermint, and glycerin. Brush for a maximum of two to three minutes only because any longer can start to damage teeth instead of doing good.

The correlation between oral health and general health is backed up by strong studies that suggest that poor oral health is related to heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, respiratory disease, and more. The bacteria that causes the periodontal infections can enter the blood stream and spread the infections to major body organs. Other suggestions include avoiding smoking, because it causes discoloration, tooth decay, gum disease, mouth bores, shifting teeth, delayed wound healing, hairy tongue, jaw bone loss, and many more as well.
