How to Earn Income With Google Adsense

If you have a blog and you are trying to make money the first step to take would be to use Google adsense. Google adsense is an advertising program where advertisers will pay for web browsers to click their ads. Google than puts the ads on your website and when browsers click on the ad you get paid. The ads are automatically set up to match the content of your site.
Once you start getting traffic you can begin to monetize your site with Google Adsense. You will not get rich with Google Adsense at least not initially but it is good because it is encouraging to see the fruit of your work by earning a little cash. Once you receive that first check from Google it will put a smile on your face because all of your hard work finally paid off.

There are two important pieces to the Google Adsense Puzzle and those are traffic and Click Thru Rate (CTR). The CTR is the % of views that your ad gets before there is a click and a good CTR goal to start with is 1% . If you can achieve 1% than you can attempt to increase CTR further. In addition to CTR the more traffic you have the more money you will make. Also the better CTR you have the more money you will make. So the trick is to increase traffic and to increase CTR.

You can improve CTR by putting your ads in different locations and by changing the color scheme of the ad. The only way to know what works is to test each ad and then make changes recording each change and see what happens to the CTR. According to Google the best location is in the content where the reader is looking.

The best location after that is the top left and after that anything above the fold which is the top half of the page. Here is a diagram for the best location from Google. Try Google's suggestions and then test for yourself to see if you can get the best CTR.

The next area that has an impact on CTR is the color palette. There are different ways to achieve higher CTR there is a blended scheme which is where the colors blend in with your blog so the user does not realize there is an ad. There is the complimentary scheme which is not blended but the ad looks good because the colors match the blog colors. Then there is the contrast approach which has completely different colors which draw attention to the ad. So you must test to find the best for your blog.

Also remember do not click on your own ads because your account will be canceled there are several ways to register invalid clicks. So you don't want to do that because that will limit the income for your website.
