What is twitter all about? It depends on whom you ask.
If you give the question to the people at Twitter themselves, they'll tell you "Twitter is a free social messaging utility for staying connected in real-time".
I would define Twitter as a micro blogging website that allows you to send out short messages that are called tweets. You are limited to 140 characters in your messages.
Don't believe the critics and cynics who are having a good time roasting Twitter. They like to think of it as a narcissism-driven site where people wildly shout out trivia about their boring lives hoping that someone is listening.
Although sometimes this may actually happen and it could be considered amusing by some people on the site.
The real value of this site is not the first thing you see. There are people sharing information and ideas. There are sure to be specialists in almost any field you can think of offering valuable advice and leadership. Who knows if you are creating your own products there are sure to be people who will tell you what they the consumer would like to see included in a product.
It's a huge and growing population. A chunk of it is boring everyone to death by sharing details about the dressing on the salad served at lunch. There's a substantial user population, however, that's making exciting things happen.
