Get The Mountains To Your Home This Summer
Summer time is here and you want to get as much sunshine in as he possibly can. You may not be able to just run out and buy a home on the lake in the mountains but you can bring the mountains and the lake to your home.
You can focus on the summer mood and it doesn't take long to get there. With a little planning you can have a wonderful time in your home this summer. Invite the mountains into your home.
Colors can make a world of difference in any home. Summer colors are pastel colors so you will want to repaint some walls in your home to be a bright lemon yellow or an apple green. You may even want to add a mint color to your walls. If you don't or can't repaint the entire wall then just paint the border of the wall. If you have a dark hallway you will want to brighten it up by adding pictures on the wall of flowers or botanical pictures.
If you still have heavy drapes or blinds in your window it's time to take them down and replace them with sheer curtains. Make sure that you ditch anything that is dark in color or solid print. These are winter colors and you want the opposite. You can even change the cushion covers to a floral print with a light colored background.
If you have wall to wall carpeting that is dark in color or heavy in texture you can replace it with a bright colored area rug. Adding an area rug with a floral print is a great suggestion or you can accessories that feature a floral print.
If you have a dark wood dining room table set it on top of a bright round area rug. An area rug can completely alter the way the room looks. You can even hang an area rug on the walls for more decoration. This is a real conversation piece for most. Add bright colored flowers to your decor. Take the logs out of the fireplace and add a fountain with a constant trickle sound instead. You can add fresh flowers everywhere you want the new look.
