Following Your Couriers Packing Guidelines

When shipping with a Tampa courier service it is important to adhere to any guidelines that they might have for packaging your goods. When you don't adhere to these rules that the courier provides to you there are two things which could happen. The first is that you risk damage occurring to your package or the package being lost. Couriers don't make up guidelines for packing shipments for their own amusement; they are designed to ensure that your packages are as safe as possible.

This is mostly because they don't want to be held responsible for any damage which happens to your packages. They also don't want to lose money that is associated with lost or misdirected deliveries, something that happens often when a package is labeled incorrectly or in such a way that it becomes damaged and difficult to read. That is why it is important that you stick to the guidelines that the courier companies provide to you.

Couriers are very good about letting you know what you need to do in order to have your package prepared for them. They aren't all that complicated, but if you don't follow them, you could fall prey to the second problem which can arise when shipping with a courier company. This is when the courier company refuses to take your package because it is packed incorrectly.

This could mean in an incorrect type of box, a box with old addresses still visible on it, or in a package that could easily become damaged or isn't heavy duty enough to support a heavy item packed in it. If the courier company refuses to take your shipment you will both have to likely pay to have it delivered again, and suffer the delay for the goods getting to your customers, in effect costing you a great deal of money.

Packing is important, but labeling is always going to be equally so and figure very strongly in the guidelines that the courier provides to you for packing your shipment. This will likely include using their proper shipping labels, not only because the orders are all easy to read and deliver that way, but also because they may have shipping labels which include bar codes for scanning with the handheld units that the delivery drivers carry with them.

These bar codes are important for tracking and organizing all the shipping of the packages the courier receives, so it is vital that they ensure that all packages have them.
