A Ha Foot Of The Mountain CD

By Patrick Daniels
Jul 1, 2009
Being a huge A Ha fan from years ago, their music is just as good today as it was then. With each album, they keep their traditional sound, that fans have grown to know and love, but always add a new spin that keeps us waiting for what will come next. There ninth album has just been released, and it is the best one that they have released. They are a truly incredible Norwegian band and sound better than ever!

The band A-Ha is created of three musical geniuses. Morten Harket, who is the lead vocalist, guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy and of course keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and was originally formed in 1982 when they left Norway to relocate and take the music industry by storm in London . The name, quite honestly as unique as the sound of this band was actually a name that they were going to give to one of their first songs, and it means in several languages the affirmative or a positive connotation. The band agreed on the name being that it was simple, unique and easy to say.

The title of their latest album is Foot of the Mountain, is a new release that has just hit the stores in much of the world, outside the US that is. Already the title track is getting notable attention in the UK and around the world. It is running up the charts, and perhaps that is because it has that synth pop sound that made the band famous in the first place. They are once again reverting back to those original sounds that gained them so much notoriety in the 80s. They haven't had a single to this well on the UK charts since, Take on Me in 1985, so this may just be their big re-entry onto the top 40 scene.

With so many bands making the mistake of trying to reinvent themselves, it is refreshing that they instead took a step back and gave us today's music with a little bit of the past intertwined. This works since today's top 40 listeners are different from those of the 1980's, therefore they made the sound enjoyable for both generations of listeners.

In any case, don't miss out on the opportunity to purchase this incredible synth-based album. Paul and Magne together and separately wrote all the songs for this album and they are a combination of A-has old sound and their connection to their homeland. It is a wonderful collection of work and although I can honestly say that Sunny Mystery is personally my favorite track, they are all exceptional and deserve the worldwide attention that they are getting.
