What Happens If My Freight Isn't Ready For Pickup?
A Cleveland courier service that is any good at all is going to make every possible effort to ensure that your package is ready for pickup each and every time that you have to ship anything with them. However, there are situations where this simply isn't possible, and because of this, every employee at the courier company will be familiar with the company's policies for dealing with clients whose packages are not ready for pickup, but these policies might be different depending on the particular company that you are dealing with for shipping your goods.
The situations that can cause a package to not be ready for pickup are often beyond anyone's control. Things like the holiday season can cause an incredible backup in any companies operations, and almost every one of those companies has to funnel their products through a courier company in order to get them delivered. Therefore, there is a huge workload placed on those companies making it entirely likely for there to be many packages that aren't ready for pickup at the scheduled time.
Usually, this will only result in an apology and no further action is taken; especially if it is at a time like the holidays where customers know that so much can go wrong with the courier business. The same goes for situations like traffic and weather accidents which have delayed shipments, or generally any situation which was totally beyond the control of the courier company itself.
There are certain companies out there who put their customer service above all else in terms of their priorities as a courier company, and some of these may be willing to go further than an apology in the event of a delivery being late. Any company which is willing to credit your account or offer you a refund for a delivery not being ready for pickup is showing a real dedication to pleasing their customers, and it is something worth thinking about when determining which courier company you want to establish long term loyalty towards.
Obviously though, don't let their policy on packages not ready for pickup be the only deciding factor in whether or not you stick with a particular company. A service like that won't make up for exorbitant rates or incompetent drivers, but, like all things, be sure to consider it into the balance of factors when deciding which courier company might be able to best meet your needs.
