Do you read your collaterals before you send them out? Do you read what's in your note cards every time you distribute them during special occasions and events? When printing notecards for one, do you ever read what your writer and designer put in your design and layout?

If you haven't, then you should make it a habit to do so. And when you do read what you've written in your note cards, can you honestly say that you're words reflect the exact message you would want to convey to your target audience? Does your content give your readers the benefits of engaging in your business? Is your content easy to read? Is it easy to understand?

Bear in mind that your objective in printing notecards for example is to get your readers' attention as well as keep it. You would want to do so so that you can generate enough interest in your offer to make them want to act according to your call to action. If you can make your message brief, direct-to-the-point, concise and sweet, you can always get your readers to understand that quickly your message. Quickly enough for them to either call you, visit your website, or go to your shop. The main purpose of which is to make them want to know more of your business.

So make sure that you have short sentences and paragraphs in your copy. This is especially true if you're looking at printing notecards where you work on a very limited space for your message. The more you maximize your space to provide the most compelling message, the better.

One way of shortening your copy is to eliminate unnecessary words that only clutter your design. Too many words can also confuse more than emphasize what you want to say to your target readers. It is still better to make it short, sweet and simple so your target readers can act on it the moment they finish reading your message.

In addition, to make your message sound cleaner and more compelling, use as much action words as possible. Ensure that your copy looks alive and exciting to appeal to your readers' attention. Rearrange your words and sentences constantly until you achieve your message in the simplest way possible.

Lastly, don't forget to focus your copy on your target audience. Forget about yourself for a change. Instead, talk about them in your note cards for example. Explain how your readers can benefit from your offer and what you can bring them in terms of solving their problems. The less you think of yourself, the more you can gain clients to your business.
