Is Your Mobile Phone too Complicated?

Do you remember when all you could do with a phone was make a call? Mobile phones have come a long way since then. With the newest sim free mobile phones you can text, chat, send photos and surf the web. You can also get help to navigate with GPS and stream live TV shows.

It turns out that the latest hot pink mobile phone is a seriously cutting edge piece of equipment with technology that is advancing so rapidly that it may actually be too complicated for many users. In fact, a recent survey found that a full 60 percent of users thought that their phones were too difficult to use and had features that they never used. Many of these users would be perfectly content with a device that provided only voice and texting options.

As the sim free mobile phone market expands it gathers customers from both ends of the age range. The original core customer base for mobile phones was working adults. But kids are increasingly getting their own phones to use and they want all the latest technology, at least all that their parents are willing to pay for.

The new technology gets all the media attention as the smart phone market is where all the new technology is appearing. This is what companies want to sell because they make more money off the more expensive phones. And the carriers make more profit from hip young users who use email and the internet on their pink mobile phone than they do from older less technologically advanced users who just want to talk.

Of course phone companies shouldn't ignore the older market, since it is really starting to grow. Many older people are purchasing cell phones. As the population grows older, the percentage of those that are older is growing, meaning they are a big market today. So if a sim free mobile phone is too difficult to use or has features that make it hard to deal with, companies can lose customers over this.

There is never going to be one phone that works out for every single user. While companies are definitely going to continue to focus on having new technology and features to put in their sim free mobile phones, they also have to remember the older lady who may want a simple hot pink mobile phone that she can use to make calls.

These simpler phones already exist of course, it is simply a matter of phone companies continuing to make them available along side the newer models. The cell phone carriers also have to provide service in a way that is fair to all types of users.

If you only want to talk on the phone, no doubt you don't want to pay the same amount as those who spend the whole day surfing on their phone. There are various packages available that provide various features so each user can find something that is right for them.
