You're probably wondering if there are any free methods of obtaining the marriage records you're looking for. There isn't really a straight answer to this. When it comes to genealogical records, you can get records free of charge in a few places.
There's the local history section of your local library or courthouse. These buildings often house free archives that you can search through. After you find the record you need, you can ask for a copy of it.

The fee will vary from state to state. In California the fee to obtain a marriage record is $13. Whereas in Florida it's much less: $5. In the state of Oregon the fee to obtain the records is different in every county. So the cost will really be dependent on where you live.
So, the best thing you can do is to try and obtain a recent marriage record from your state's Department of Vital records and ask for details on where to go and how much it costs to get your documents. If you can't find the Department of Vital Records, your best bet would be your county or municipal government office.
