How Father's Day Has Evolved
The father in a child's life is his first hero and ideal as the kids appreciate their father a lot. The celebration of father's day is done to admire and appreciate the efforts made by every father in their kid's life.
This day is not celebrated just to honor father but also to appreciate the efforts of all other men whether grandfather, uncles, adult male friends and stepfathers, who have fulfilled the duty of father in a child's life.
A father is always an important anchor, a source of inspiration for the child while they walk through different routes of their life. The father helps their child, cares and secures them from outer world whenever needed. The children also remember and recognize all the endless pain their fathers have taken during their growth and upbringing.
Every year Father's Day is celebrated on the 3rd Sunday in June. In some countries the children send a gift as well as wear red flowers for their living father. If the father is dead then a white one is worn in his remembrance. The history of Father's Day is related with a city in Washington, named Spokane.
There was a woman named Sonara Dodd, who was raised by his father as her mother passed away while she was quite young. So, while listening about Mother's Day celebration, she thought about honoring her father by celebrating Father's Day. She wanted to make her father feel special so she celebrated Father's Day in the month when her father was born. That's why Father's Day is celebrated in June.
Her father made all the parental sacrifices so he was the most courageous, selfless and loving man on this earth for his daughter. During the same time people in various towns and cities started celebrating a "father's day". In 1924, the then President, Calvin Coolidge, announced the third Sunday in June as Father's Day.
Everyone tries to celebrate Father's Day a bit differently and make various efforts to make it a special day for their father. The children send fresh flowers to their father and if someone's father appreciates a particular type of flower then try to give him those flowers. It's not necessary to give a bunch of flowers as even a single rose will let him know how much you care.
If the child is artistic then they can try and make a homemade card and picture showing the significance of their relationship in their lives. Other children buy greetings cards on the internet and send them as a way of thanking their father for all of their help and support.
Some children try their hand at cooking and prepare their father their special meal. Don't cook any new recipe to spoil the evening but play safe by cooking some good recipes. If one cannot cook at home then have a dinner at your favorite restaurant with your father and loved ones so as to enjoy the evening.
