The inclusion of hardwood floors in the hallways and rooms makes for natural beauty that will last for a long time. Hardwood floors are the most popular for many homeowners nowadays.

Carpet, tile, marble, and other floors just simply do not create the look that hardwood floors give. There are several variations of hardwood floors and they differ in immunity to problems, color, and hardness. Also, different kinds of hardwood floors have different strengths as far as how long they will remain in good shape. No matter what type of hardwood floors one selects, they will sparkle and give that natural look everyday you see them.

Solid Wood Hardwood Flooring Solid wood flooring comes in two different types: finished and unfinished. Unfinished solid wood floors must be sanded and finished after they are put down. Finished flooring comes pre-sanded and complete and can be installed right away. Some choose unfinished so that they can insure a good installation before finishing the floors. This makes it so the scratching or chipping that takes place while installation gets fixed before the dyring of the finish. There are three different choices you have in solid wood hardwood flooring:

Plank - This type of hardwood flooring comes in a specific thickness while the width of the planks can be different.

Strip - Strip flooring is available as a set width, but the thickness is different with each strip.

Parquet - This type of hardwood floor is in a whole other family than planks or strips. Each piece of parquet is crafted to include geometrical pieces. These shapes or shape blocks are glued together with powerful glue or some type of nail.

Engineered Wood Flooring - This kind of flooring has some wood but is not all wood. The process of making engineered wood flooring includes the adding of plastic laminates over real wood. This type of flooring is much different than laminate flooring even though it uses laminates in the process.

Acrylic-Impregnated Flooring - This kind of floor is made by the inclusion of a sealant into the wood. The wood takes on the color and glow of the sealant throughout the entire surface and inside of the wood. Therefore, if you reduced the woods surface completely, remaining would be the same glow of color and depth that is on the surface of the wood.

Hardwood floors come in a few different kinds. When deciding on hardwood floors for your home, you should think of a few different things. One of the first things to consider is cost. Hardwood flooring has a wide range in price; you should always decide on a budget before deciding on a hardwood flooring type. Another thing is durability. Hardwood flooring comes in a wide range of strenths, hardness, and length of quality. With this change in durability, one should think about traffic in the home, the presence of children, air quality, and the presence of any moisture and other elements.
