The International Flavor Of Gambling
The international flavor of gambling is a subject for people in the know to discuss and discuss it quite often they do. It is actually quite interesting that this myth of online gambling being purely a North American thing has persisted for so long. It is interesting because you would have to be completely out of it with regards to the online gambling industry to think that the United States is the only market for online gambling.
For one thing, the United States is not even a place with players that are accepted at all of the online gambling sites. There are plenty of countries that have players that are heavily involved in the online gambling scene. A good example of such a country would be Great Britain, a country that is not only home to many online poker sites, but one that is also home to online casinos, bingo halls and especially online sportsbooks. It has become one of the central fronts of the online gambling industry, especially since the United States has repeatedly committed a variety of unfriendly acts against a number of the online gambling operations that are now headquartered in London or another large British city.
The World Series of Poker is another great example of the fact that gambling has really become an international big business. The man that won the World Series of Poker in 2005 was from Australia and there have been a number of winners that have been immigrants to the United States from other parts of the world. Even people that still live in countries in Europe and Asia are hugely interested in playing the game of poker and by extension gambling it up at the casinos. Macau, a city located in China, has become known as the Las Vegas of the Orient because of the large gambling operation that has built up in the area. No matter where you look in the world, it seems as though gambling is flourishing and the industry is growing.
Because of this, it is time that we put this myth of gambling not being international to bed. Do not think for a moment that only people from the United States and Canada gamble. Everyone does it and right now it is easily the fastest growing form of entertainment around the world. Do not ever be taken in by that myth again, because it just gets more ridiculous to believe with each passing day.
