Making Extra Money By Taking Surveys
Money may not buy you happiness, but it certainly does buy you peace of mind. While money will never replace true happiness, it can buy financial security. In a day and time where the economy is still bad despite promises of a better tomorrow, people are scrounging up every bit of change they can spare to save for rainy days. The recession the U.S. is still in started in the fall of 2008, and halfway through 2009, it looks like things are starting to look up. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to score money any way you can.
Whatever your profession and disposition in life right now, you could probably use some extra cash. Even millionaires could use some extra cash, albeit much smaller sums than the majority of people in the world. Although the following recommendation should not be relied as your main source of income or one used to supplement income, the truth is that participating in these does help out occasionally.
Participating in surveys for market research companies can earn you quite a big chunk of change. Some smaller studies might earn you just $20 for a single food product or taste-testing visit while other more extensive studies might pay out a couple hundred dollars for an hour or two of your time. Still, others are on a much larger scale and could pay you a few hundred dollars to even a thousand dollars, but those studies usually occur over the course of a few days or even a few months and will require repeat visits.
Some studies that pay out more are ones that involve medical studies, in which the participants are required to undergo psychological analysis while on medication or other stimulants. Some medical studies might look for specific characteristics in their subjects, including race, ethnicity, drug problems, etc. Once in a while, you might come across studies that involve your shopping habits and will require you and an observer to visit a grocery store.
The best place to find paid surveys like this is on Craig's List. Sometimes you might find opportunities on other online classifieds, newspapers, community newsletters, publications, and even television. Although you may not qualify for the particular study you signed up for, your name and information will usually be stored in a database so that the research company may contact you in the future for any other studies you may qualify for.
Again, this is not to be used to supplement or replace your current income, but it is something that you can do to earn a little cash here and there.
