Is Ten Minutes A Day Worth It For A "New You"?

You don't need to spend an hour or two in a gym every day - or even a few times a week -- to have an effective exercise program. Doing focused isometric exercises for just ten minutes a day, at home, will lead you safely and quickly to your goal.

There are some "gym bunnies" out there who wouldn't miss their daily or thrice-weekly gym sessions for anything. But that kind of compulsive dedication to sweating, straining, aching and struggling toward the goal of a "perfect body" isn't at all necessary. So why do they do it? No clue - unless it's simple obsessiveness and self-absorption.

The reality is that if you want to feel healthier, lose weight and inches, become more flexible and agile and have plenty of vigorous energy, you don't need to invest more than ten short minutes a day - in the comfort and privacy of your own home - to achieve the results you seek.

Furthermore, if you have physical limitations, most of the exercises can be done while sitting in a chair. Even those designed for standing or lying on the floor can be adapted for a sitting position.

The beauty of isometric exercise is how beautifully and effectively it works, without stressing your body to the max (or at all, for that matter) ... without aching from stretched, sore muscles ... without allocating huge chunks of time spent struggling on machines that resemble medieval instruments of torture in a sweaty gym, being watched and judged by others.

All it takes to get started on a successful program of isometrics is to get an instructional DVD, slide it into your player, and devote a mere ten minutes a day to doing the exercises - at home, dressed however you feel like dressing, at whatever hour of the day or night you choose. No one will be judging your "performance," and there are no unreasonable or difficult standards to meet.

Isometrics has another benefit, as well, and that is improved breathing. You can practice the breathing exercises you'll find on your DVD at any time throughout the day. They take just a few seconds, and are simple, non-intrusive and non-stressful - you can even do them as you prepare to answer a telephone, and no one will even realize that's what you're doing! Within just a few days you'll be amazed by how greatly improved breathing increases your energy level and overall sense of well-being - at the same time you begin to notice your body improving in ways that bring a smile to your face.

Think about how long ten minutes actually is. About the time it takes for a quick shower, or to brew a pot of coffee. And even with that minimal investment of time, within a matter of a week or so you'll start to feel - and see - the kind of results you've longed for but had begun to believe weren't possible. They are possible - and quickly, too.

If you are willing to spend ten minutes a day doing the easy, relaxing exercises you'll find on an isometrics DVD, you'll be rewarded with a slimmer, trimmer, healthier body than you'd ever thought possible.
