The water temperature is also of great importance when bathing your dog, as the water should not be very cold or too warm. The ideal water temperature to bathe your dog in is lukewarm water.

When washing your dog, you should start from their head and then move down to their tail. You should also make sure that you use a good dog shampoo, as human shampoos are too harsh on their skins. It is vital that you rinse your dog well, as shampoo residue will lead to skin irritations. If your dog has tangled hair, you can also use a conditioner.
After this whole exercise, rub your dog dry with a towel, preferably outside as they will shake a lot.
