Internet Home Business Opportunities: Are They All Scams?

By Gregory McGuire
Aug 6, 2009
Internet home business opportunities are everywhere these days. If you do a Google search, you'll see what I'm telling you is true. Also, the hype that surrounds most of these opportunities is enough to make you barf. Do you really believe you can make $2000 a week with little or no effort? C'mon, tell me you're smarter than that.

Because so many sites are promising enormous wealth for next to nothing, most people with an ounce of intellect initially run the other direction when they hear about Internet home business opportunities. Then they hear of a cousin who makes a fortune selling other people's stuff online.

Then they take notice.

If this sounds like you, don't think you're wrong for being skeptical. In a world cluttered with so much junk and so little substance, being skeptical insures you won't waste your time or money chasing rainbows. Today, only stupid people aren't skeptical.

Having said that, I can tell you there are thousands of people making millions of dollars online. If you're not seriously looking at Internet home business opportunities, you're really missing out. There are many advantages to doing business online.

Firstly, it's a much more viable alternative for most people who want to start a business. Let me explain.

With Internet home business opportunities, your business is worldwide. Your doors are never closed, and the only employee you have is your website, which never sleeps. You can make thousands of dollars overnight, and not even speak to a customer if you don't want to.

Compare that to a traditional business where your hours are 9 to 5. You're limited in both time and space. People who need what you've got might be hundreds of miles away, and if they can't meet your store hours, they'll probably go somewhere else.

Then you've got to think about cost. With a traditional business you need employees, inventory, and a location. Internet home business opportunities free you from all that, however. Your website is your only employee, your inventory is in someone else's warehouse, and your location is the World Wide Web.

What about advertising? In days past, full page ads in newspapers or magazines did the trick. Maybe an expensive TV or radio spot here and there. Of course, you needed a sizeable marketing budget to do all that.

Today, you can advertise your online business for free, or very inexpensively. If you do have an advertising budget, well there are ways to bring you even more business. Of course, there are many things you need to learn to fully take advantage of these techniques.

Remember when calling another state cost you an arm and a leg? Or, when 20 cents a minute seemed like a good deal? Well, those days are gone. Cheap communication, in the form of email, instant messaging and Skype allow us to speak with others on the other side of the globe, and it's virtually free.

If you're sick of where you've been, and are afraid of where you're going, you might want to start seriously looking at Internet home business opportunities. Yes, there are some scams, but there are also many legitimate opportunities that can take you anywhere you want to go.
