The Right Suit Can Make a Big Man Look Great. What Can It Do For Your?

I'm sure everyone is aware that Americans are getting bigger. The fast food lifestyle has a lot to answer for. Obviously, men from all walks of life are included in this group of expanding individuals. Many big men are suit wearers, and it's important to play every trick in the book to create a most favorable visual image when so dressed.

Curious to find out what we are talking about here? Well, there's a lot of information out there on what kind of suits compliment the figure of a tall well-built man. But what if you are of a shorter kind and, in addition, somewhat overweight? How can larger men choose a suit that will disguise unfavorable features of their bodies? We are not talking about a suit that will necessarily make you look thin, but the one that will not make you look bigger and heavier.

Unfortunately, the choice of suits that will hide the shortcomings of a heavy men's body while emphasizing positive features is very limited. It is best to have a suit adjusted or even made by a professional tailor who knows exactly how patterns, shapes, lines and colors can change the way your body looks in a suit.

How about color? Black is classically known for possessing a slimming effect, but you can also choose a very dark gray or blue alternative. Keep this in mind when you go to get measures, but also take note of what colors go best with your skin/hair type.

Consider a pinstripe. A thin pinstripe on a dark blue suit would be a wonderful choice. The stripes will assist with the disguise. Avoid all patterns.

The fabric that you choose should also be lightweight. There are many such fabrics available at the stores. So discuss this step with your tailor, and you'll be delighted with how skillfully he or she will fit your suit.

When purchasing a custom suit, many bigger men overlook the fact that they may lose weight. Try and consider this before you purchase the suit, because it would be a waste to have a suit made to your measurements, and then having your measurements change. There is also the option of altering the suit in the future, if the change does happen.

Finally, please do not draw attention to any part of the body or suit with the addition of a wild tie or a loud shirt. What goes best most suits, especially one with a dark pinstripe, is a plain white shirt.
