Internet Business Opportunities: How Do You Find The Right One For You?

By Gregory McGuire

All internet business opportunities are scams, at least I'm sure you've heard that more than a few times if you're like me.

In truth, there are many programs out there that are legitimate. Most of these allow you to make more money than you could ever dream of. Unfortunately, they're mixed in with the scammers and look just as legitimate. So what criteria do we use as we sift through the millions of internet business opportunities out there? How do we decide which program is right for us.

Firstly, you want to know that the company you're looking at is legitimate. How do you do that? I use a couple methods, and never work with a company until they pass these tests.

The first thing I look for in contact info. If you scour a website and can't find a name, phone number, or, at the very least an email address, forget it. You'll want to talk to a live human being before forking over a dime. Trust me on this.

A second factor you'll need to look at is the system in place. Now don't get me wrong on this. Many internet business opportunities will say stuff like, "Just plug into our system and kick back and watch the profits roll in." That's not what I'm talking about when I say system. Be very wary of any system that says it will do all the work for you.

Even with a system, you'll be doing most of the work. A system, however, insures you'll have a blueprint to work from. I've seen so many internet business opportunities say, "All you do is promote this link, and we'll do the rest." Duh. Promoting the link is the key; what else needs to be done? Get enough qualified people to the link and your business is built.

A workable system means you're not sitting around wondering what you should be doing to build your business. You'll have goals and deadlines to meet and, ideally, someone to answer to like a coach or mentor.

Another factor that is very important when evaluating internet business opportunities is that of global reach. This is critical in this internet-based world we live in, yet I've seen so many companies that are not worldwide. If a company only serves the US or UK, I'd keep looking.

I'm speaking from experience on this one. A few months ago, my primary network marketing company merged with another company. My company was global, the merger company was not.

After adopting the non-global approach, hardly anyone on my team sponsored a soul. Almost all of us changed programs to a company that is known for being global, and we're recruiting like crazy again.

Something else you'll want to think about when looking at internet business opportunities is cost. Granted, $150.00 a month to you might not seem like a lot, but to someone in another country, it might be a month's salary. How would you feel about a business opportunity that cost $5000 a month?

Once you've narrowed your list of internet business opportunities down to 5 or less, get on the phone and see what your gut tells you about each one. If you're looking at a network marketing business, your sponsor is almost as important as the company itself, so it really pays to do your homework.
