Royal Standard Hotels, From Accommodation in Bangkok to Paris Penthouses

When you think of luxury, cities like Paris, Rome, and London come to mind. New York is at the top of most lists when it comes to expensive and extravagant hotel services; however, the Eastern world is quickly catching up in the ultra-luxury stakes.

Here we look at the most decadent hotel amenities worldwide. Bangkok hotels score highly, as do Indian facilities, and you'll be surprised what you can find across the rest of the Asian continent as well as worldwide.

The ultimate way to feel like royalty is to surround yourself with people who are happy to cater to your wishes - even when they don't necessarily fit in with the plan. Chateau de Bangkok hotel, offering reasonably priced but luxuriant Sukhumvit accommodation, has figured out a novel way to make guests feel like royalty, with blowing their budgets.

The Bangkok hotel has a cross-ordering policy within their two restaurants, where you can order dishes from one restaurant that are on the menu of the other. You can even order Thai favorites that aren't on either menu! The 4 star Bangkok hotel offers a unique feeling of luxury, with poolside massages, dark teak furnishings, and delicious fabrics used throughout the rooms.

If luxury doesn't have a budget for you, the Taj Palace in India goes the ordinary, old traditional route to helping guests feel special ... bringing elephants and camels out to meet them when they arrive at the hotel.

You aren't expected to make your own way to the hotel, of course - you are picked up from the airport in a vintage car, and receive a welcome text message on the in-car phone from the hotel en route. Just remember the price difference between traditional luxury and the innovative luxury that Bangkok hotels display!

Keswick Hall is a colonial style mansion in Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here guests can call on the baby butlers, who will warm a bottle, burp the baby (complete with vomit-catching!), change nappies, and rock the baby to sleep before putting it in a personalized crib.

Mom and Dad can take a dip in the pool, see some sights, or soak in the tub. The strange thing is, that while few hotels articulate policies like this, there are actually many Bangkok hotels and other worldwide hotels that are willing to help out with children where possible.

And if your bank balance is starting to require two lines for all the extra zeroes, you can quickly and easily trim some of those off at places like the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort in Miami. This is mostly a pet resort, where guests (dogs and cats, mostly), drink Evian water, and eat gourmet bagels and bones. The Spa services here include oatmeal shampoos, paw moisturizing, and aromatherapy sprays.

Dusit Thani means 'town in heaven', and while you will certainly feel the effects of a night here on your credit card, it does offer traditional Thai luxury in Bangkok hotel rooms. This Bangkok hotel serves fresh fruit daily to your room, offers satin hangers, umbrellas and slippers for guests to use, and has a computerized bedside control panel for items like air conditioning, curtains, the TV, and lighting.
