There are so many pubs available in and around Amsterdam that you will never get bored. Most of them start serving alcohol around noon and after-hours parties can go on even into the next day. In the red light district, marijuana is as commonplace as drinking a beer. There are many cafe s that offer a wide array of cannabis selections, and are presented in menu fashion. You can try exotic flavors from around the world, and smoke to your heart s content.

Many of the establishments in Amsterdam combine the bar or pub with dance clubs, and there are many different exceptionally good places to go. No matter what kind of music you are interested in, rap, hip hop, rock and roll, etc., you will find something to knock your socks off. Plus, there is many a romantic hide-away for couples looking to spice up their lives.

While there are many ways to stay in Amsterdam, if you want to get away from the conventional accommodations, you might want to consider renting a holiday apartment instead of a hotel. With a hotel you are usually stuck in a room or a suite with other members of your party, and there isn t any privacy. You have to worry about dining out all the time, which can really suck away your money.

With a holiday apartment, there are no privacy issues, or worries about food. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchens and private bedrooms which can accommodate either a couple, family, or large group of friends. This is perhaps one of the best ways to stay abroad and still have some of the comforts of home. With the full kitchens, all you have to supply is the food. What better way to really get a feel for the culture than buying staples at the local markets? This also gives you the choice if you want to go out to dinner or not.

Whatever route you decide to take, make sure you do some researching first in order to ensure that you are getting the most out of your holiday, as well as saving some money. Check with rental agencies for pricing, and you will more than likely find that the cost of one of these apartments are comparable or even cheaper than many hotel accommodations. If you are traveling with friends, that can often mean that one person will spend less money and have more for the time of their lives.

Some tips when traveling, keep minimal amounts of money on your person at all times, and if you have to have cash or credit cards, make sure they are in a secure money belt or other device. Avoid hanging out in large crowds, for there are many pick pockets there looking to remove you from your valuables. When tripping around town, always travel with someone, it s safer that way.
