Let s just start with the free opportunities available in Barcelona in the evening and night. One of the biggest attractions at night is perhaps the fireworks displays, set to classical music, which can be viewed for free at the Paca Espanya during most of the year. You can find out more information about this from any of the tourist offices in town.

Another free thing to do is to walk along the boardwalk, where the lights stay one till about 10. It can be a long leisurely stroll with you love, and you will be able to see the many restaurants, and clubs that are so popular in this area. As the night gets later, the younger crowds start to show up and it can get pretty noisy in the area, with the many wet T-shirt contests, concerts and dancing.

La Rambla can be a tourist magnet and very exciting at night. There are street performers entertaining the masses, food booths as well as full service restaurants, bars and dance clubs. The expense may be a little higher here than in other areas, but if you want a hopping good time, this is the place to be. It is easy to get there, and using the Metro is a cheap and easy way to get around.

With so many different choices, it is no wonder why people are attracted to this beautiful city. One of the best ways to experience Barcelona is to rent a holiday apartment instead of the conventional hotel experience. A holiday apartment has many of the same features as a hotel, but is way more personal. There is a completely equipped kitchen and private bedrooms that can accommodate big groups of people, or a family. You don t have to eat out if you don t want too, and what better way to experience the real people than to go to the market places and buy food.

Many times you will find that a holiday apartment is comparable or even cheaper than a long stay at a hotel. You can enjoy being a tourist, and still have many of the comforts of home. Many enjoy staying in these places, an wouldn t have it any other way.

Do some researching first before you go, to make sure you find the best deals on accommodations. If you plan ahead, you will also be able to reserve tours, and exhibitions early. During the high volume of visitors during the summer months you may find that some are not available at the last minute. This way you are assured you will get the most out of your experiences.

Some tips when traveling abroad, no matter where you go, travel with someone if at all possible. You are less likely to be hassled or accosted by undesirable people. Stay out of large crowds whenever possible, because there are many pick pockets looking for unsuspecting tourists. If you have to carry money or valuables, keep them in a money belt or some other safe and inconspicuous way. For the most part, keep your valuable items at your hotel or apartment, just to be on the safe side.
