Managing our time is indeed an important aspect of reaching our goals and in managing our tasks from day to day. Although we may have adopted our own strategies and techniques in managing our time, welcoming other tips on time management would be a great opportunity as well to know other techniques and to choose which are most effective and applicable with our lifestyle.

Here are some tips on time management that you may want to try in helping you manage your life and reach for your goals.

- Take advantage of technology in managing your time. Desktop calendars and planners may be the common ones we used but your cell phone, your email, a software program, your laptop - you can find them useful in keeping you updated with your schedule and reminding you of your tasks. However, make sure to be organized in using them because they might also make a mess of your schedules if you are having different plans in different tools.

- Organize yourself and your task. It really matters if you have an organized list of what you have to accomplish for the day, for the month and so on. A planner, a schedule of your activities, to-do lists or checklists are simple but important tools that will help you stick with your schedule and keep up with your deadlines.

- Know your priorities. If you do not know where to start from the many tasks that awaits you, you may end up doing nothing. Categorizing your tasks to what are very urgent, what are very important and what you want to tackle first are essential things in budgeting your time and are indeed helpful tips on time management.

- Stay focused. One major obstruction in finishing up your tasks at the right time and is distraction. If your thoughts are wandering and entertaining other matters that are not very important with the task at hand, you may end up rushing to finish things up in the last minute. If you are having a hard time to focus and concentrate, always make sure your body and mind is conditioned to stay focus. A hungry stomach or a very full stomach can be a distraction. Problems with relationships can also be distractions. Make sure that you are able to handle these well to avoid it interfering with your tasks.

- Do not think of rewarding yourself if you have not yet finished the task. Sometimes you might think you can just put off a task because you want to see that good movie on some movie channel, or you think you could deal with work later after you go out with friends. Think of these as 'rewards' that you will earn after you have finished your tasks for the day.

- Learn to say no. Sometimes we tend to procrastinate because there are indeed too many tasks that you can manage to handle. If this is your case, you can delegate some tasks to others, or if not, you should learn to say no. If you want to focus on one thing, learn to say no to other less important things.

You can definitely find great tips on time management that you can apply in your life. If you are able to master the skills of budgeting your time and accomplishing your tasks, it will truly give you more time to enjoy a happy and more fulfilling life.
