Motorhomes Give You The Chance To Experience Your Own Country In Comfort
Great Britain has some of the most picturesque landscapes in Europe, but they go to waste. Annually, thousands of Brits embark on holidays abroad so they can go trekking in Thailand; take the kids to Disneyland or in order to soak up the sun on Turkey's white, sandy beaches. Yet, people could save money and not have to worry about language barriers if they chose to holiday in the UK.
Brits have become increasingly unpatriotic and many view holidays in their own country as mundane and boring, but in America only 22 per cent of citizens own a passport so more than three quarters of the population choose to holiday in America itself.
The thought of holidaying in motorhomes often makes teenagers cringe and complain about how their friends stay in five star hotels. Nowadays, there is no need for these complaints. Many motorhomes come equipped with all the amenities you require while on holiday and you'll be able to make the children's school holidays coincide with your holiday without having to worry about the increase in the cost of flights and hotels.
Areas such as Padstow in Cornwall are right next to the beach and will give you the chance to try your hand at a variety of water sports or lay on the beach and just people watch. If you're planning on taking teenagers with you, then Newquay is a recommended place to visit as every year hundreds of teenagers flock there in the summer so they won't be short of company their own age.
If you'd rather go exploring when on holiday, then take your motorhome up to The Peak District. You can go exploring in some of the prettiest hamlets and villages in the country and will be able to wander through the glorious hills and valleys that The Peak District has to offer. If you think your navigational skills won't quite get you through the valleys and safely home, there are a variety of guided walks and tours on offer.
There will be those who just can't resist the call of a foreign country and are longing to soak up another culture. You can still cut the costs of hotels by taking your motorhome on the ferry across to mainland Europe and can have a road trip to countries such as France, Italy, Spain and Germany to name a few.
Although at first, the idea of spending your summer in a motorhome may not sound like you'll be living in the lap of luxury, you will get the chance to see more places without having to be so concerned with the cost of staying there. However, if you prefer to live like the elite, invest in a top of the range, customised motorhome and travel in your own mobile Ritz.
