All of the wedding day excitement has come to an end and the two of you are left to do your best to make it. Being a newlywed is an amazing time in a person's life. But along with all of the wonderful things that marriage brings comes the reality of the current economy crisis that can so quickly cause our financial profiles to change unexpectedly. Regardless of your status as newlyweds, you may need to be mindful of your spending and overall finances.

Don't let this put a damper on things. In fact, the best way to deal with this economy crisis is to beat it! To follow are a few simple tricks that you can do, together of course, for saving, cost-cutting, and getting a good financial start with your new life. Here's how:

Never waste energy. Those energy bills will be mainstays in your new lives. They simply don't go away. So, together, come up with ways for helping to conserve so that you keep your bills reasonable and within budget.

From shorter showers to turning off the lights when a room is not being use, the two of you can realize a saving, cost-reduction, and a feeling that you are also helping the environment just by working out your "energy conservation plan". These small changes can add up to a considerable savings over the long term. That money could be used to help stretch your budget a bit more.

Cook your own food and minimize your dining out. Try not to spend so much money on meals outside of your home. That's pretty much money out the door! Make cooking a part of your together time and use your meals for keeping each other involved in your daily lives. This economy crisis has really changed how most people think of money. Saving is key to a healthy long term financial portfolio. So, why not start now?

If you do go out, use coupons. Many great restaurants offer an abundance of coupons either through their email club, in your Sunday newspaper, or in the circulars that are delivered to your mailbox on a weekly basis. Sift through these little papers, clip the coupons, and use them to buy for cheap a great evening meal for two! Some even offer whole meal packages that will include a bogo (or buy one get one deal), and drinks for a very low price.

Rent or mortgage are usually the two most costly monthly expense in a person's life. Don't let your savings or your budget get blown away by spending too much on rent. It's just two of you and you may be able to save a considerable amount, every month, by choosing a living space that is maybe a little smaller or in a different area. Also, before you jump into a long term lease, consider something shorter and, even look into those great "free rent" deals. This first apartment together doesn't have to be your final destination! It could just be a "stepping" stone toward your ultimate love nest.

Together, you probably have an abundance of furniture and home stuff. Sell what you don't need for some extra cash. But, whatever you do, don't try to buy all new digs when you are just starting out. Give it some time. It's your new life and you will have years to fine tune your apartment or house to get it the way that you want. For some "newer" items, consider shopping at a thrift shop for items that you can buy for cheap and customize. Life can be good for newlyweds, despite this economy crisis. Take things slow and enjoy the ride!
