How to Stop Excessive Sweating

Sweaty palms or extra sweating because of nerves isn't unusual at all. In fact, there are literally millions of people who suffer from some form of hyperhidrosis, a disorder that causes people to sweat excessively beyond what their body really needs to maintain cool.

While this might seem like some minor cosmetic issue at first, there are many ways that excessive sweating can be traumatizing to people. The most severe cases can cause some people to lose their confidence and avoid going out in public or socializing at all.

What treatments are viable depends on how bad the specific case of hyperhidrosis is. The good news is that for most cases there will be some great home remedies that can help at least curb the level of sweating, if not help to stop it completely.

Grape juice is a classic example of a home remedy that you can try to help lower your body temperature and stop sweating. Typically drinking a glass of juice everyday will help you to at least lessen the problem, if not outright resolve some minor cases.

The clothing that you wear can also have a major effect on your excessive sweating. Fabrics that breathe well are much more appropriate than others if sweating is a legitimate concern. Cotton is an example of a good fabric to use when you have a sweating problem. Stay away from polyester and artificial fabrics. Silk is one natural fabric that is not good for allowing the body to breathe in clothes, so if you have a problem with hyperhidrosis, you need to trade out.

There are also several medical treatments that can help treat hyperhidrosis. Surgery should always be a final resort, as there are many natural and medicianal solutions that can help out the majority of people afflicted.

But if the excessive sweating is severe, surgery could be a final resort. Botox has also been found to help with the problem. If you are suffering from excessive sweating, a visit to the doctor can give you all of your options for the condition.

Sometimes a doctor may recommend electric stimulation of the area to help minimize the amount of sweating. I have had friends who found this as an effective way to treat some severe cases of excessive sweating. The stimulation is applied directly to the area that is experiencing the excess sweat. The procedure is often done over several appointments with increasing amounts of electricity.

You may also be prescribed a medication that will resolve the problem and help you to stop sweating. The medications prevent the sweat glands from overproducing sweat and resolve the problem. Be aware of the side effects of the medication before you begin using it, and above all, don't despair. As you can see from this article, there are many options for individuals who suffer from excessive sweating to get help.
