How Do You Lower Your Triglycerides Naturally?

But first, what are triglycerides? Finding answers to the question of how to lower your triglycerides usually starts with this question. What are triglycerides?
Everyone knows fat is bad for you. But is that true? No its not. Some fats are bad for you and some fats are good for you. Triglycerides are a form of fat and they're one of the ones that are bad for you.

So what foods are those that result in a higher than wanted level of triglycerides? Foods that are higher in fat, especially saturated fat, and high in sugar isn't good either.
What is the problem with too much triglycerides in the blood? They can lead to blood clots, which isnt a good thing, and they can also cause your HDL (good cholesterol) to lower. Both of those are bad. Basically its linked to coronary artery disease.
Now you know what triglycerides are. How do you lower triglycerides?
1. Eat the right diet to lower triglycerides. Foods that are lower in fat, fresh and good for your health. More fresh fruit and vegetables. Less high fat foods, less sugar. Cook with Olive oil or Canola oil.
2. Exercise more, because exercise helps to lower triglycerides as well as making you more healthy generally.
3. Lower your intake of alcohol.
4. Lose a little weight.
5. Omega 3 fats found mainly in fish oil are very good for lowering triglycerides and so you ought to consider substituting oily fish for that steak once or twice a week.
It is well known that Omega 3 polyunsaturated fats are a big part of lowering triglycerides.
The American Heart Association tells us that we need to increase our intake of fish or fish oil supplements to combat a whole range of different heart conditions, including high triglycerides. That's because fish and fish oil supplements are the best source of Omega 3 fats, and Omega 3s are a very important part of the best diets to lower triglycerides as well as an important part of our overall health generally.
There's lots of ways Omega 3 fats are good for you.
But there is a problem eating too much fish. It's contaminated with a high level of toxins and the FDA tells us not to eat too much.
But the very best fish oil supplements aren't contaminated with toxins and are the best way to add daily fish oil to your diet. This isn't true of all Omega 3 supplements.
