MLM Prospects or MLM Pros?
You get off the phone with you new MLM prospects, and think too bad. They have been in 10 companies, and never scored big. Maybe I'll just keep looking for a good recruit.
Whoa! Hold on a second. You may have just found the best recruit possible.
What is a Heavy Hitter? Many MLMer's dream of recruiting a Heavy Hitter. What's that? In MLM, it's someone who has experience and can recruit quickly. It's a term for someone who will do great things and earn a very high income.
In short, everyone wants to recruit a Heavy Hitter with his own list of people to sponsor into his, and your, downline.
In some cases, though, you may not know that you have one of these on the hook, or interested in your company. You can't always tell. Maybe things didn't go perfectly in the last company they were in.
In fact, some of these haven't ever made it big. As I've said before, you never know what a person has going on in their life. Some things you can set aside and work around or through, others you can't.
My point is that when you have a prospect with some experience ready to take a new chance, go for it. Ask if they can commit to some time each week. Ask if they have some money and know how to market for real, in addition to the three foot rule and the names list.
You May Have Struck Gold Give them a chance to show that the repetition of being in several companies has improved them. Seeing several comp plans may have made them more careful when they sign up, and better as a recruiter.
An Example of a Great Success In one company, I met a tremendous success story in the top earner. He earned over $1 million the year I met him.
Did he get rich quick? Not really.
He had been in about 6 companies previously while he worked his day job. He was never successful in any. But now, he earns six figures per month. Wow, that's great.
When I met him, he had just finished writing a book to help others do what he did. He donated a case to a high school class, and then mentored the class in his principles of success. Not bad, right?
What made the difference for him?
He found a new mentor who showed him how to apply what he had learned in those other companies. His experience became his foundation for teaching his new recruits how to succeed.
What if he had never gone on to the seventh company? He might never have become the success that I know.
Myths and Statistics You have probably heard that only 1% ever become successful in MLM. Don't believe it. Approximately 5% earn a full time income, according to company earnings statements.
Also, by recognizing you need to learn more, many MLM prospects will go on to new companies and learn what they need to know to join the ranks at the top.
