The bad news, for those that don't already know and understand this, is that we are living in hard financial times right now. All over the globe, from household to household, people are trying to weather the storm of this economic crisis. The good news is that there are lots of sources for relief from the financial strain. These sources of relief can be found in the form of freebies.

In spite of everything, freebies abound for those that are looking for them. Whether you find them online or at your local lunchtime spot, they are out there for you and your family to enjoy. Check out these resources for freebies and you will grow to appreciate the flurry of freebies that are available during this economy crisis:

Can you believe that there is FREE MONEY lurking out there? Well, there is and there may be some with your name on it...literally. The US Treasury Department keeps a running tab of people that have unclaimed property and money on the individual state websites. You don't pay for anything except to get the claim form professionally notarized. That is a service that you can buy for cheap at under $10!

The way that this works is simple. Pretty much, you go to their website, type in your name or do a name look up. If you see your name, you fill out paperwork and collect the money. This "free money" usually comes from a potential inheritance from a relative that has passed away, an overpayment for an insurance policy, a final paycheck from an employer that may have never been given to you, or even money that the government owes for you an overpayment on something. Most government websites will let you know if the amount exceeds $100, which means that it could be even THOUSANDS! But, you won't know if you don't check it out.

Look for free furniture! Your local colleges and universities are depositories for free furniture at the end of the school term. Whether students are graduating or simply not returning to the school, they usually put out tons of furniture. Why would they put out good furniture? Because after working hard for 4 years, many feel that they deserve something new or it's just easier to put it out than to move it...again! Once they've graduated they just simply may not care about saving, cost-cutting, or making things last anymore. But, free furniture can translate into free money for you if it's in good shape.

These free furniture finds could be more than just a chance for your family to get "another" sofa. If the items are in good condition, consider selling them. It's an economy crisis and, if your family is like most, you could use all of the financial help that you can get. Craigslist, posting in your local free paper, and consignment stores are great places to sell your stuff to earn a few extra dollars.

Eating for FREE usually makes the food taste even better...or so it seems. Samples are very popular right now, in the fast food industry. So, make sure to know the schedule for those freebies for your local burger spot. Plus, people can enjoy saving, cost-cutting, and a free birthday meal when they sign up for the many different restaurant email clubs. Free to join, and you will receive lots of offer for discounted or free food!

You can get a piece of the free pie just by doing a little research and being resourceful. The only thing better than being able to buy for cheap is getting something free. During this economy crisis, enjoy the flurry of freebies that you will find. They could not only help your family to get some things that they want now, they can also benefit them by making a way to save money for the future!
