Prevention And Recovery From Bad Postures

What all can we do to overcome from bad postures and its impact on the health? A well known say is prevention is much better than cure. No need to wait until it becomes a problem. Prevention of back problems can be much easier than getting it recovered later on. And yes, back problems can be easily prevented in most of the cases by following some simple tips and tricks.

Poor posture worsens as the body takes the common position and adapts to it. If you are a dentist, bending over becomes the adaptive position. If you are a pianist, it adapts to hunching over the keyboard. If you do cross stitch, knitting, computer work, stand around with drooping shoulders, adaptation takes place. You get locked in, and the lock tightens. Muscles that should keep you upright will stretch and weaken. It is widely believed that bone health is affected by muscle activity attached to it. And it makes perfect sense.

The key to prevention is that you should not get "locked in". Stretch, restore, intend to stand and sit straight. More importantly, strengthen the structures that keep you straight so you can maintain it. Intentionally exercise those muscles. From muscle bound football players to enthusiastic seniors, the majority have posture problems because they are not paying attention to those muscles that keep them upright. They exercise the muscles that pull them forward which create an imbalance and pull the shoulders forward.

The key to recovery is to stretch, mobilize, and strengthen. Tight muscles, joints and connective tissues can be stretched. Gentle and gradual recovery is better. Sudden change can result in injury and pain.

The best way to change behavior is to integrate the change into your daily life. You can receive effective psychiatric treatment, and revert back to former patterns as your normal routine resumes. It would be more ideal for them to live with you and integrate the therapy into your life.

You may be in two modes when it comes to posture. You must protect what you've got if it is good, or risk losing it. Or you must correct what you have lost to improve your condition. It is always better to prevent being in such a situation where you have to go to the doctor, get physical therapies and buying expensive posture braces. If you keep your living style healthy and keep note of a few bad habits, you will never a need a doctor for your back.
