Nurse's Guide To Getting Rid Of Acne Naturally

Aug 17, 2007
Natural treatment methods are cheaper and always a better choice for acne due to less exposure to drugs and chemical-laden acne products. There is hope -- keep researching, learning and testing and you'll find the right treatment for you. While most forms of acne are merely troublesome or embarrassing, there are some forms of acne that can lead to scarring and pitting of the skin.

The most common types of pimples are whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts. People of all races and ages have acne. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life. Baby acne is a rash seen on the cheeks, chin, and forehead of infants.

New studies show that during times of high emotional stress, such as during exam time in high school, there are more acne breakouts; so are stress hormones the culprits? I think the cause of acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory 'standard American diet' (SAD) and that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones. If you've heard that dirty skin causes acne, it doesn't - it's a myth.

A skin specialist in New York is using the new red light-blue light combination therapy to treat severe cases of acne successfully; ask your skin doctor or dermatologist if he's familiar with it. Shave carefully and try both electric and safety razors to see which works best for you. Popping pimples can cause infection and scarring; best not to do it.

It's always best to seek non-invasive and natural treatment for any skin condition. If you wear make-up choose it carefully; it should be oil free. There are many natural acne home remedies; you may have to try several to find one that works best for your skin type.

It bears repeating, you want to be good to your skin and never pop or squeeze a pimple no matter how tempting. Try not to touch your affected skin to eliminate possible contamination. Any makeup you use should list on the label non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic.

For the best acne treatment, which has worked for many, apply virgin coconut oil to the area daily; try it on a small test area for a day or two first. Use papaya and the seeds for exfoliating. If you're going to buy acne products, it's much more worth your while to buy acne-treating products that work against current pimples and prevent the occurrence of new ones.

One treatment method some people have used is applying cornstarch, egg whites or milk of magnesia as a facial mask. It's easy to treat acne cheaply, simply, naturally, yet effectively, at home.

When you change your diet, your lesions should start getting better within a week or two, with significant improvement the first month. Some alternative doctors recommend eating a raw clove of garlic daily for acne; you can chop one up and add it to your daily salad! People with skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation; if you are, make sure you're drinking lots of water every day and add more natural fiber from raw fruits to your diet.

Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne. To cure yourself of acne, you need to correct the problems going on inside of your body that are causing the acne.

Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, fresh or dried fruit, such as dates, and figs. Eating fruits that are red or orange in color will help improve you skin health and help to prevent acne. Good nutrition will help your skin from the inside out.

Drink plenty of pure, filtered water, a minimum of a quart a day. The next time you want to have a snack, instead of junk food, help your skin - have an apple, orange, peach, pear, banana, plum, berries or any other fruit.

And you should be able to get rid of your acne, zits and pimples and their symptoms so it doesn't reoccur. There is hope - keep researching and testing. With cheap, safe, simple, natural, effective, alternative home treatments for acne and pimples, your skin should be well on its way to recovery.
