Charity Golf Event Networking Tips
Golf Outings are a good way to maintain contact with your friends, clients, partners, and relatives. Golf Outings have many other purposes aside from keeping social contact. There happens to be three types; so if you want to know more about this topic on golf outing events, then read on.
Corporate Outings First would be the Corporate (or client/partner) outing. This leans more toward the business category in which its purpose would be to set up meetings or deals in a friendly ambiance through a game of golf. Most companies use this type of outing to present a comfortable atmosphere as opposed to the intimidating air of a corporate office. In short, a Corporate Golf Outing aims to build a stronger business relationship between partners, clients, etc.
Social Outings The second type is the Social Outing. This one is basically what relatives or friends do so that they can have a good time without a specific purpose (except to have fun). Most outings of this type are purely for entertainment, but some are also geared towards family reunions, high school reunions, social club gatherings, etc. Some Social Golf Outings are also used by organizations to promote a tournament of some sort. Other Social Outings are even used to promote an annual local community meeting of parents, teachers, students, etc.
Charity/Fundraising Outing The third one is the Charity or Fundraising type of Golf Outing. This one's a bit more important than the other two types since it can incorporate both friends/relatives and business partners (or clients) so as to proceed to a specific purpose. Some of these charity outings even have celebrities in them so as to generate even more fundraising capability for the event. Others use political personalities so that the outing can have more of a serious image and that it will likely gain more attention from the media. All in all, it depends upon the purpose of the charity outing.
What to Expect Unlike most professional golf tournaments, golf outings lean more towards entertainment, rather than competition. Expect the speed of play to be more constant than tournaments. There are other activities to a golf outing than just playing golf itself. Therefore, the timetable should be precise so that it can proceed to other phases of the golf outing. A golf round of 3 to 4 hours is acceptable so as not to annoy any other players who want the game to be faster paced.
When Running an Event If you're running a golf outing, make sure that you have the basics down. Stuff like location, club amenities, event theme, budget limits; these should all be factors to consider so you can be prepared in selecting the right course. Plan in advance by researching how much you're going to spend on such things as registration, locker rooms with showers, equipment rental, staff efficiency, carts, and caddies.
Golf Outings and Social Networks are a great way to build relationships as well as hold events for different purposes. If you're thinking of holding a Golf Outing event, then make sure that you consider the fun element first.
