Take Care When Attempting Rapid Weight Loss
With the rise of the Internet and 'Google' it is now much easier to find diets and information about pretty much anything to do with weight loss. The problem is, who can we trust? Anyone can put up a website claiming to have the latest answer to dieting, but most of these people aren't doctors or reputable clinics, so how can we tell the good from the bad?
To be honest, the answer is really based around common sense. If you come across a website telling you that if you take one pill a day for 3 weeks you'll lose 2 stone, I think alarm bells would go off in most of our heads. I would personally think a) this is a complete lie and the pills don't do a thing and these people are just trying to make money or b) what the hell is in those pills, and do I want that in my body?
In most cases, eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly will keep the weight off. Losing weight rapidly tends to lead to putting weight on rapidly.
Banning yourself from treats and all types of unhealthy food tends to lead to craving and binging. Being sensible about what you eat is definitely easier than forcing yourself to strict regimes. And eating is supposed to be social and fun. There is no need to ruin that just because you want to lose weight.
But there are always times when we suddenly realise we've only got 4 weeks before we have to wear our favourite dress to a wedding, and we can't do the zip up. So who can we trust? And what diets are really safe? This article will hopefully explain some of the things you need to worry about when looking into 'quick fixes'.
Any diet that warns about the long term risks or states that it should not be used for longer than a week at a time, needs further investigation. It is quite possible that you will lose weight on these diets, but on the whole you are losing weight because you are essentially starving your body of the nutrients it needs, so the minute you start eating your regular diet again you should pile the weight back on. When doing my research I came across the 'Cabbage Soup Diet'. This diet involves drinking only milk, eating fruit one day, vegetables the next and as much cabbage soup as you want for a period of a week. It does state that you need to break from the diet every seven days for at least 2 weeks to replenish your body's nutrients and develop good eating practices. If you're really starving your body of 'essential nutrients' is it really that sensible to go on this diet? Yes you may lose some weight, but you'll be starving, irritable and probably very tired. And if you're eating heaps of cabbage soup you'll probably have awful breath...
Natural or herbal weight loss diets sound good but aren't necessarily all that safe. And in fact, some herbal weight loss remedies have actually been found to be harmful. For example, herbal products containing ephedra have caused serious health problems and even death. Surely it's better to lose the weight a bit slower than risk serious illness?
Ultrasound treatment is a non invasive, non surgical approach which removes fat cells and reshapes the curves of your body. Using ultrasound techniques, the fat that is released heads via the bloodstream towards your liver where it gets processed. Some of the fat will be used for energy instead of a meal and burned off as calories. Some other fat will be stored in the normal way and laid down again but this time evenly distributed throughout your body and not back at the treated target areas. Ultrasound techniques, used alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise can help get your body to the shape that you want, making you feel more confident about your body and ready to lead a healthy and happy life.
