Pug Health Problems- What To Look For
Do you wonder what to look for when your pug is unhealthy? When it comes to a pug, you will find that they are a breed that's easily maintained, but have large amounts of energy for a small type breed. Pug health problems can consist of hard time breathing, bone problems and inflammatory in the brain. If you're looking for a pug that's healthy, here are some tips to watch out for and to see if your pug has these problems.
The most common problem with a pug is the encephalitis disease. The disease is an inflammatory that starts in the brain and can be caused from old age.
Both sexes of the breed of pug can get this disease. The Encephalitis disease isn't only for the pug breed, you will see that it's also found in the Yorkshire terriers and Pekingese's breeds as well.
Encephalitis can be determined if they have seizures at ages of five or more years of age. You may find your dog to have more problems with walking as well. Well, if your dog walks with a limp with the back legs, you should make sure he or she doesn't have hip dysplasia.
You will also need to make sure they don't get tracheal collapse, which is one of the serious diseases that you need to watch out for.
The disease starts with making the windpipe narrow and could suffocate them. You will find that the symptoms can be coughing when it's cold or hot. When you hear a gagging noise or a goose honk when they cough, you need vet attention for your pug. Your pug health problems can be diagnosed through a vet and they could tell you the problem you may have with your pug.
